Monday Dec 19 I will give a keynote on human-robot relations at the OH-MAN, OH-MACHINE conference at Tel Aviv University. I will expand Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology of interpersonal relations to a phenomenology of human-robot relations, arguing that Merleau-Ponty’s notion of the ‘chiasm’ can expand the approach of technological mediation, and that the mediation approach can help to expand Merleau-Ponty’s notion of ‘flesh’ into ‘techno-flesh’, in order to analyze not only how human interact with robots but also how robots mediate interpersonal relations.
