The Society for Risk Analysis-Europe (SRA-E) will have its Benelux Conference 2020 on 24 March 2020, focusing on the Risk-Technology Nexus, and particularly the trade-offs of potentially disruptive technologies. The event is co-organized with the TU/e Center for Humans and Technology. In my opening keynote I will address the ways in which emerging technologies disrupt ethical concepts and frameworks, with a specific focus on the ethics of risk. Peter-Paul Verbeek (1970) is full professor of Philosophy of Technology and co-director of the DesignLab of the University of Twente, The Netherlands. He is also honorary professor of Techno-Anthropology at Aalborg University, Denmark. Verbeek's research focuses on the philosophy of human-technology relations, and aims to contribute to philosophical theory, ethical reflection, and practices of design and innovation.
